How to brush your teeth?

Brushing for a Healthier Smile
Brushing your teeth for two full minutes with fluoride toothpaste and a small, maneuverable toothbrush is essential for maintaining good oral health. To ensure you’re brushing long enough, consider listening to a song while you brush, as most are around the recommended duration. Replacing your toothbrush every three months also improves effectiveness in removing plaque and maintaining gum health. When choosing a manual toothbrush, opt for soft bristles to protect your gums from damage. Brushing harder does not remove more plaque and can actually harm the enamel and gums. If manual brushing feels ineffective or difficult, investing in an electric toothbrush may be beneficial. A new, high-tech toothbrush can also serve as added motivation to brush regularly.
To brush correctly, press gently at a 45-degree angle and scrub the outer surfaces of the teeth, using small circular or vibratory motions. Move gradually around your mouth, paying close attention to the gum line. Once you reach the other side, rotate the brush to clean the inner surfaces of your teeth in the same manner. Finally, brush the top surfaces of your teeth with a brisk, back-and-forth motion.
Complete the process on the opposite set of teeth, ensuring that the tongue and roof of the mouth are also cleaned, as they can harbor bacteria. Try to spit out the toothpaste rather than rinsing immediately, as this allows the fluoride to remain on your teeth longer for maximum benefit.
