Comprehensive New Patient Exam
At Diamond Dental Centre, we take the time to thoroughly assess your oral health—because a quick check isn’t enough. Your first visit includes a comprehensive examination to ensure we understand your dental needs and create a personalised treatment plan.
During your exam, we will:
• Record a complete dental chart, noting the condition of each tooth
• Take intraoral images if necessary
• Check lymph nodes for any abnormalities
• Assess gum and soft tissue health
• Examine the jaw joint (TMJ)
• Evaluate your bite for potential issues
• Take X-rays if needed to detect hidden dental concerns
• Perform an oral cancer screening
Why Is a Comprehensive Exam Important?
You wouldn’t build a house without a plan—dental care is no different. Treating teeth at random or only when problems arise won’t deliver the best results. A strong foundation is key; for example, placing a porcelain crown on an unhealthy tooth or gum won’t be effective in the long run.
