Leading Dental Practice in North Brisbane QLD

We are dedicated in helping you create the smile of your dreams.

Restore teeth to their natural shape and appearance using white fillings.

Dental fillings help to restore cavities and bring a damaged tooth back to its usual function and shape. White fillings can be used in repairing chipped or broken front teeth, masking discolouration, enhancing the shape of front teeth, correcting the bite and filling cavities in the back teeth.
At Diamond Dental Centre, we use amalgam-free fillings (containing no mercury) for health and cosmetic reasons. With advancements in technology, we can very closely match your filling to your natural teeth, making it virtually unnoticeable and allowing you to smile and laugh confidently.

Benefits of using a tooth-coloured composite:

Aesthetic – Can be closely matched to the color and shade of your natural teeth

Bonding – Composite fillings bond chemically with the structure of the tooth, ensuring strength and functionality

Versatility – Can be used for a variety of procedures, such as decayed, chipped, broken or worn down teeth.

Preparation – Tooth-coloured restorations allow a minimum amount of tooth structure to be removed, in comparison to large amalgam fillings

What is involved in the restoration of a tooth?

We will first numb the area with a local anesthetic. The decay will be carefully removed using dental handpieces and diamond burs. The cavity will be cleaned of any bacteria or debris and then a tooth-coloured composite will be applied in layers and set with a special blue light.
We provide the option to listen to soft music or watch a movie using our special 3D glasses during the procedure if the noise/sensation is uncomfortable for you.

What should I expect after a restoration?

You will initially experience numbness for about 2 to 3 hours in the restored region. Be careful not to bite or chew on the numb tissue as you may experience discomfort once the numbing has eased.
You may experience some pain or discomfort if your filling has a ‘high spot’ and is the first point of contact when biting. When numb, it can be hard to identify if the filling is hitting first. All it take is a 5-minute appointment to adjust this high spot.
